‘Gauge’ was filmed on Baffin Island in the Canadian Arctic, on sea ice. As the monumental ice walls rise and fall upwards of 30ft due to the tidal movement of the sea, visual narratives were created using natural food colouring, that came and went with the tides. This work is a collaboration by visual artists; Danny Osborne, Alexa Hatanaka and Patrick Thompson (PA System) and Pulitzer Prize winner, composer of chamber music and performer of experimental noise music, Raven Chacon. Filmed by Sarah McNair-Landry and Eric McNair-Landry. Photography by Erik Boomer.
